HISTORY
The Smithville Community Coalition, in partnership with the Cornelius Parks & Recreation Department, celebrates Black History Month each year with a special event in February. This free, public event is offered in collaboration with the Cain Center for the Arts, and features art, performances, speakers, and more.
CURRENT EVENT
The theme for Black History Month 2024 focuses on “African Americans and the Arts”.
Join the SCC in partnership with the Town of Cornelius and the Cain Center for the Arts for this FREE event celebrating black history and excellence.

5:30-6:45 PM Black history program featuring music, guest speakers, and spoken word poetry
6:45-7:30PM Food, drinks, and featured art in the lobby of the Cain Center
8:00PM Sons of Mystro Performance
